22. Audit or Mission: what changes
Oct 08, 2026A small hotel and a resort do not ask the same question, and a single format would serve one of them poorly.
Why it matters
We offer two formats, based on a single method: the ten sub-objectives, from the stay environment to image and messaging, each at two levels, minimum baseline and optimised baseline. What changes is the depth, the duration and what is delivered.
What is established
Here, "established" refers to the published content of each format.
Audit, 3,000 € excl. VAT per venue. For independent hotels and small venues. One to two days on site. The ten sub-objectives scored one by one. Oral debrief at the end of the visit. Written report within two weeks, with three implementation paths: upgrade the equipment, add Living Lab experiences to the offer, become an IO8 partner venue. Audited by IO8 label.
Longevity Mission, 20,000 € excl. VAT per venue. For resorts and hotel groups. Three days on site with specialist experts: sleep, nutrition, movement, nervous system. A debrief workshop with the spa team and the marketing department. A financial module based on the hotel's data, drawn from its property management system (PMS): occupancy, seasonality. A deployment plan: longevity rooms, devices made available, a longevity menu integrated into the existing spa. A procedure sheet per device: hygiene, lending, replacement. A re-measurement of the environment at six months.
What does not change. The grid, identical from one venue to the next. The room's target values. The principle: we measure the venue, not the guests. Declared interests. The report, owned by the venue. The group rate, published in advance, valid for both formats.
What is emerging
The financial module on real data. The Audit puts figures on recommendations based on what the venue shows us. The Mission puts figures on them based on the venue's own occupancy series, month by month, with a low scenario. This difference in precision matters for a resort whose seasonality weighs on every decision. Its reliability on a real venue will be established by the first Missions.
The re-measurement at six months. Almost nobody comes back to measure. We do it in the Mission because a recommendation that has not been verified remains a promise. What this re-measurement shows, we will publish.
The longevity menu. Around ten services, at 60 to 150 € per session, integrated into the existing spa. In the Mission, it is designed with the spa team. Its real yield remains to be observed.
What is unsupported
We do not say that the Mission yields more because it costs more. It goes deeper, for larger venues. The sample report we show concerns a fictitious resort; its figures illustrate the shape of the calculation, not a result.
We do not say that the Audit is a reduced version. It is the right format for a small venue that needs a clear diagnosis and actions in the right order.
We do not sell one to obtain the other. The Audit is not a down payment on the Mission, nor is it deducted from its price.
What a hotel can do
Choose according to size and question. An independent hotel of a few dozen rooms, without a large spa, generally starts with the Audit. A resort with a spa, golf or several dining outlets, or a group, gets more from a Mission.
Start with the Audit, then move on to the Mission. This is possible when the venue grows or wants to deploy on a larger scale. As the grid stays the same, nothing has to be redone; the Mission goes deeper.
Hesitate, and say so. The request form offers three answers: Audit, Mission, or "I don't know yet". In the latter case, we advise after a conversation.
Plan for travel. The price covers the work. Travel costs are added and depend on the zone: zone 1, Lisbon; zone 2, Portugal; zone 3, Europe. They are specified in the quote.
Each format goes through a request, then a quote; payment is made on invoice.
What the Living Lab measures
Measurement planned. The Living Lab, near Lisbon, is being equipped in waves; part of the equipment is being delivered.
What the Living Lab will test for both formats: the environmental reading protocol applied to its own rooms, the stack's devices and their procedure sheets, the longevity menu services and their real duration. The readings will be published here, dated.
