It is the same thing as an artist in residence, but the work is a scientific protocol.
A place hosts a specialist and gives them time, space and instruments. They do not come to give a talk: they come to create. You arrive with an intention, you sometimes leave with something else entirely, and often with several protocols.
And the parallel goes further. A doctor, a scientist, an artist share the same weakness: passionate about what they do, they do not know how to sell themselves. The residency fixes both at once. The expert fulfils themselves, and what they produce becomes a sellable working tool.
An artist leaves a work. An expert leaves a method, and a way to live from it.

C'est quoi, un expert en résidence ?
C'est la même chose qu'un artiste en résidence, mais l'œuvre est un protocole scientifique.
Un lieu accueille un spécialiste, lui donne le temps, l'espace et les instruments. Il ne vient pas donner une conférence : il vient créer. On arrive avec une intention, on repart parfois avec tout autre chose, et souvent avec plusieurs protocoles.
Et le parallèle va plus loin. Un médecin, un scientifique, un artiste ont la même faiblesse : passionnés par ce qu'ils font, ils ne savent pas se vendre. La résidence règle les deux à la fois. L'expert se réalise, et ce qu'il produit devient un outil de travail vendable.
Un artiste laisse une œuvre. Un expert laisse une méthode, et de quoi en vivre.
